Nail Design | Yellow French Manicure

Yesterday I posted the nails you see below on my Tumblr page. 

After I got home yesterday, I went back to my blog and noticed the picture was rather....dull? I then thought to myself, "Maybe you shouldn't take pictures of your nails inside of your house, in a room with poor lighting." Hehe. So, here is a better picture showing the true colors of the polishes:

 I call this nail design 'Mellow Yellow'. I apologize for the slightly blurred photo, but that's what happens when you have shaky hands when taking camera phone pictures! Ugh. Anyway. I wanted something classy with a catch, so I decided to use two shades of yellow to create a yellow French manicure.

Products I used:

1. Klean Color ‘Neon Lemon’ polish 

[discontinued or re-named as 'Neon Yellow']

2. Ravie Nail Lacquer #57

3. Clear top coat

How I created the look:

 I painted my tips with the Ravie polish, then applied the Klean Color on top.  I finished with a clear top coat to add more shine.7

It appears that Christina Aguilera will be starring in a film alongside Cher this fall called "Burlesque", and OPI decided to create their winter collection based off the film.  The collection looks very "glittery", accompanied by some jewel-toned polishes.

Nail Design | Katy Perry @ The Kid's Choice Awards

Ms. Perry twitpic'd her pretty nails for the Kid's Choice Awards, manicured by Kimmie Kyees. Aren't they pretty? I love the matte, glitter finish, and the addition of the colorful jewels definitely adds a youthful vibe to the nail design.  Kudos to Kimmie for creating a pretty design which compliments Katy's dress perfectly.

Celebrity Minx Nails

Rihanna, Beyonce and Keri Hilson all looked stunning at the Grammy's and they also all had Minx nails.  Which Minx nails were your favorites?

My favorite was Beyonce...reminded me of disco!

Orly Foil FX Collection

Orly is releasing three metallic colors for Spring, and the timing is impeccable because of the Minx metallic craze.  These polishes have a very nice finish and ARE very metallic.  I like Minx nails, but I find that they don't last long for the price they cost, so this is a great alternative.

If you want a polish that's rich in color, and shiny [not matte], Sally Hansen HD colors will give you just that.

Beyonce is on tour, and below is a picture of her at Madison Square Gardens in New York City, and I love her nails! They are by Minx, and the shine is so brilliant.
