Nail Design

I decided to do my nails today, and orange was my color of choice.  I probably have 10 different shades of orange, and decided to use the three you see below: a deeper, pumpkin orange, a bronzier shade and a melon-like shade of orange.  The polishes all have a metallic finish.  I figured the look would have a better appearance if I used nail polishes with the same finish and texture.  If you would like to know what polishes I used, leave me a comment and i'll respond with the brands and shades.

OPI Nail Lacquer Winter 2010 Collection | 'Burlesque'

It appears that Christina Aguilera will be starring in a film alongside Cher this fall called "Burlesque", and OPI decided to create their winter collection based off the film.  The collection looks very "glittery", accompanied by some jewel-toned polishes.

The House Of Pretty | "The Band Jacklace" Nails

A friend of mine has a jewelry/accessory line called 'MAYZANI', and her pieces are all unique and very cool. She asked me to create some nails for her collection, and I couldn't resist! There's a description of how I created the nails below.

How did I create the nails?

-I used medium length nail tips.

  

-I applied 2 coats of ORLY 'Solid Gold', from the Metal Chic Collection.

-Once dry, I applied a top coat to seal the polish.

-I then created some stripes and shapes with my nail design polish by Art Deco.

-I then applied the various jewels onto the nails with a dabble of super glue and a jewel application tool stick.

-The very last step I did was apply top coat on the finished nails.

I was inspired by the gown Anna Pacquin wore at The 2010 Golden Globe Awards, which led me to create the nail design "Gold Rush". I loved the brilliance, golds, bronzes, shine and texture of the dress.

Tokyo Nail Expo

These pictures were taken at the Tokyo Nail Expo.  I'm sorry the pictures aren't larger, but I think you can still gauge how amazing these nails are.  The intricate designs really have me curious as to how long it took to create some of these nails....amazing!

Celebrity Minx Nails

Rihanna, Beyonce and Keri Hilson all looked stunning at the Grammy's and they also all had Minx nails.  Which Minx nails were your favorites?

My favorite was Beyonce...reminded me of disco!

Orly Foil FX Collection

Orly is releasing three metallic colors for Spring, and the timing is impeccable because of the Minx metallic craze.  These polishes have a very nice finish and ARE very metallic.  I like Minx nails, but I find that they don't last long for the price they cost, so this is a great alternative.
